The Down Vest is a part of the Deus Ex Machina Made in Japan collection.
Down outerwear is often the ‘go-to’ item for many in Japan because its lightweight, very warm and can be compact not taking up space. Both styles are a 90/10 mix down filling. The jacket was designed to hide the down pack stitches on the outer surface and filled less than typical down jackets to keep it from being ‘puffy’ outdoor. The vest has a removable hood. Both are produced with 100% polyester Dicros Mauri for the outer material. This fabric has a similar texture to rough natural cotton but has high weaving technology to keep it from losing shape or getting wrinkled. In addition, it has high water repellency, UV protection and low aeration. The made in Japan lining material, is “Thermotoron” from Unichika. It uses extreme infrared radiation inside the fabric using body heat to warm up the body. Ventilation, thermal conversion, thermal reflex are the components to create warmth and coziness inside the jacket. It also doesn’t create static electricity even in the driest climates. The hand warmer material inside the hand pockets is “Feel thermo” a polyester with cold protection function which generates and stores heat by infrared radiation.
MAURI-yarn is after-processed to give it a coarse hand touch of natural cotton. Its woven fabric is then dyed and further processed to finish in the washed-cotton look. While maintaining the touch and look of natural cotton, MAURI fabric, with our ultra-high density weaving technique, is made anti-crease and shape-lasting, overcoming unwelcomed nature of natural cotton.
