2016 Bike Build off - Bali

After days of rain leading up to the event, we woke up wondering if we were going to get wet when it came to ‘go time’ for the Deus Bike Build Off, but as dawn broke it was apparent that the clouds had parted and we were in for a day of sunshine and blue skies.

Throughout the morning the Temple’s back yard slowly but surely filled with customs of all shapes, sizes, colours and cc’s. From turbo charged drag strip killers to humble Honda Cubs, the gambit was full and the whole day was spent ogling over every angle of the bespoke machines.

Royal Enfield came out to support us in the event, bringing down a whole fleet of brand new bikes for the crowd to lay their peepers on or throw a leg over and test ride around the block and back. This may have lead to some testing of the tires via burnouts…it was all for research purposes we assure you.

A crew of artists had set up in the gallery space and were hand painting helmets, there was live screen printing of t-shirts in the garden and the obligatory blast up and down the Deus road to show the bikes were in working order. All this kept everybody entertained up until the afternoons judging and award ceremony.

We can’t show you the winners right now but keep your eyes on bikebuildoff.com as the online voting for the global people’s choice award opens this Friday the 30th of September, where you will be able to look through all the winners from Sydney, Milan, Tokyo, Bali and LA – make sure to get your vote in for your favourite.

We would like to thank everybody who came out and made the event possible, from the builders, to our sponsors and all the spectators who came down and had a gander at the array of custom machines. Can't wait till next year!
